Mansion for Great Nevis & Oaks, Osborne Foreshore II - Ikoyi Lagos

Description:

Presented here is a 7- all -ensuite bedroom mansion  for an institutional Client. This  simple but bold cubed design is aimed at putting all spaces in the box. All spaces provided in this building revolve around a sky-lit stair-hall which forms the hub of the entire design. The cantilever over the car port is stretched to 6.5m to cover absolutely any typical stately car with all doors opened fully, and ample space around the car for walk round. The 2020 Mercedes Benz S-500, was used as a typical stately car for the design of the cantilevered  concrete slab.

The building itself is a marvel in its locality of failed piled buildings. A special foundation design was adopted for the elegant box: Soil up to 3m below the entire footage area of the building was excavated to receive, imported fine sand, and granular granite chipping, and  mechanically compressed in layers of 150mm thickness,  prior to raft foundation engaged. This was a structural solution based on debt study of soil and geotechnical report of the site.

Other facility in this gorgeous  building include a family theatre, prayer hall, and 2nos ensuite - service rooms neatly tucked at the reft rear end of the building.

The landscape of this building exhibits organic stones carefully chosen to match organic fixatives on the external facade.
