Woodland Conversion, Ileteju Mopa, Kogi State - Nigeria

Description:

This is a 1989 alteration and conversion works in the woodlands of the  Government Revered  area (GRA), Ileteju Mopa-Kogi State.

This project entailed the conversion of an existing 3-bedroom  courtyard sky-lit bungalow,  to a 6-bedroom 1-storey residential building. The original planning with a court yard played a very important role in this conversion. The newly created spaces all revolve around an open  central courtyard, and offering source of day lighting in the development.

The building features six all-ensuite bedrooms, a very large sitting room for micro-communal gathering, additional meeting rooms, and a large kitchen. The entire property sits on a very large fenced compound in the native woodland. Deliberate window top concrete casing for sun shading, is a distinguishing characteristic of the woodland house, and directly sits on the local diurnal sunlight  axis.

The parking area attached to this old redevelopment is also very large, and also facilitates communal gathering. The building is regularly updated with indoor facilities and technology to keep the pace of time.
