

SEPLAT SPORTING/COMMERCIAL FACILITY, OGOMBO ROAD, LEKKI - LAGOS
Project Description:
This is a public building designed for the Staff cooperative society of Seplat (formerly Exxon Mobil). The building is designed for a corner piece land measuring 3500sqm, along the popular Ogombo road.
The U-shaped structure prides a 32m x 18m green pitch at its nucleus (central location), and about which other shopping facilities revolve. The typical floor feature shops of varying sizes (25-50sqm), and allocated around the centrally located pitch which is designed for multiple outdoor games; (5-aside football, basketball, Badminton etc).
Typically, the shops parades a fixed glass exhibition facade, and visible for shoppers along the common shopping pathway connecting all shops. The facility of a large Eatery and supermarket is accommodate on the ground floor of this commercial edifice.
The typical floor feature a decentralised service core; a central core that accommodates the main stairs, lifts and the central reception area, and also the alternate core facility at the ends of the structure in accordance to building /safety codes.
A mini stadia-like gallery (Spectators Seating) is further featured on the ground floor and aborting the central sky-lit/covered pitch.
The exterior view of this facility is expressionistic of its function, and conveys the symbolic identity of a sporting arena as seen in Graffiti works and a sky-lit geodesic dome capped over the central core. The facility is intended to serve the need of Seplat’s Staff, and also the local community where it will be located.
