Description:
This grand structure is a gorgeous mixed use monumental edifice for the Redeem Christian Church of God, and proposed to be sited in the prestigious woodlands of the old Port Harcourt Government Reserved Area (GRA).
She sits on a rectangular 8350sqm of land, aborted on the shorter sides by two major arterial roads, both leading to the GRA and Port Harcourt Township. The site is east -west oriented, and takes advantage of multiple vistas to the adjoining major roads, the city metro line and also institutional buildings, including the State Government House.
The edifice is a tower-podium outcrop from its environments, and accessible from the two adjoining major roads. The Podium prides a 70nos basement car park, and it is accessible from either end of the site. It is also exited from its two ends. Accommodated in the basement are also utility offices and storage areas.
The outcrop of the basement footage area are 2nos. large galleried auditorium on either ends and a central core that forms the Podium of the Edifice. This outcrop features the 1100 seater capacity main church on one end and the Youth, teenage and children church on the opposite end. The church Facilities are all connected to the building’s central core facilities(main & escape Stairs, 6nos. Lifts, Male/female toilet and utility servises), entertainment and leisure facilities, conducive working spaces and beautiful living areas.
The utility & central core facilities is located along the bilateral line of symmetry of the building Tower. The tower consist of 18 suspended floors of mixed used facilities of office space, training facilities, Eighty-four aesthetically pleasing hotel rooms, and 36nos residential apartments offering three- bedroom, two- bedroom and studio apartments. Aside these is a pent floor consisting of two luxurious pent apartments, and a caping heliport.
The Tower is stratified, and its accommodations deliberately cubed. Its spatial and volumetric compositions is definitive in style and function of the spaces provided, and affords a symbolic representation of its contents as a mixed use facility.
The ideals of corporate architecture is demonstrated on the facade of the office spaces, while planted terraces adorn the facade of the residential floors, and collectively form an organised caricature of a cubed and robust mixed-use facility and Tower.
The totalitarian edifice also prides a concrete structural network designed to suit large spans within the building, and also purpose designed voids on its facades to suck in the site’s coastal wind into and through the building for the climatic comfort of all users and also energy conservation. Graphical elements symbolic of the Redeem Christian Church of God also identify the building with her owners.
