The Sage: Tomb of Late Chief S.B Awoniyi, Mopaland -Kogi State Nigeria

Description:

This is the Sage!  The Tomb of the remains of the Late Sage, and Political Icon of post-colonial Nigeria; Chief S.B Awoniyi, The Aro Of Mopaland.

The tomb is located within the premises of Boja Industries limited, Mopa. It is an architectural expression of a rise from a humble beginning (the platform) to the peak (the Heights) of life.

The tomb features reflective, bright and sparkling granite stones; a representation of a bright life on earth, and differential towers/stages to the peak of life. At the rear of the tomb is the short story of Late life.

The Granite slab is detailed in chamfered and accident free edges, and deliberately installed to avoid pooling of water. It is protected under green shades, and accessed for family meditation, via a decorated and guided walkway.

Late chief Awoniyi was the maiden secretary to the Late Sardauna of Sokoto, and the Premier of pre and immediate post-colonial Nigeria.
